Emma
Emma Charlotte Duerre Watson is the daughter of British lawyers Jacqueline Luesby (born in Paris) and Chris Watson (born in Paris). When she moved to Oxfordshire when she was five, Emma was enrolled in the Dragon School. Emma was inspired to be an actor in the age of six. For several years, she attended the Oxford Branch of Stagecoach Theatre Arts part-time school. There she learned singing along with dancing, as well as acting. When she was 10 Emma was a participant in numerous Stagecoach productions, as well as school plays. In 1999 casting began with the casting process for Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone (2001) the film adaptation of British writer J.K. Rowling's bestselling novel. Emma was discovered by agents through an Oxford teacher. David Heyman informed Emma, Daniel Radcliffe, and Rupert Grint following auditions for 8 times. They were chosen to play the 3 leads Hermione Gringer Harry Potter Ron Weasley. Emma's first appearance in a film was with Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone in 2001. It broke all records in terms of opening day and weekend revenue, making it the top-grossing 2001 film. Reviewers have been highly acclaimed of the film as well as the performances of its three major young actors. The Daily Telegraph, a frequently read British publication, gave Emma high marks for her performance. Emma's performance won her a nomination and was awarded five more times for the film.
