Madhuri Dixit

Madhuri dixit is an acclaimed Indian actress who is famous for her the roles she played in Hum Aapke Hai Koun. In the late 80s, she began her acting career and became famous for her role as Tezaab, in which she starred alongside veteran actor Anil Kapooor. Her subsequent appearance on screen was Dil alongside Aamir. As a child her Mumbai-born dancer started learning at an early stage. While still a teenager she attempted acting, but most of those early films were unsuccessful. She finally found success, and went on to be one of the top actresses within the Indian film industry. Her marriage led to a hiatus from her acting career. Later, she returned. Recently, she played a prominent performance on the film Gulaab Gang. The film was about struggles faced by women in India. Dixit was nominated for fifteen Filmfare Awards, out of which she was awarded eight. Padma Shri is the fourth highest civilian honor in India. Her work in the field of social service is well-known.
